Novy Undercover
Designing the kitchen of the future.
Novy sought to create a multifunctional kitchen surface, tapping into the trend of higher esthetical and architectural demands for kitchen appliances. The challenge was to create an induction hob that meets the growing demand in the high-end market, where kitchens are now designed by interior architects rather than traditional builders.
However, the devil is in the details. How do people use this invisible hob in real-life scenarios? What is the ideal way to interact with it? What are the main concerns about safety and usability? This is why Made engaged in extensive user-centric research, prototyping, and iterative testing to create a product that met market demands for sleek, space-saving solutions. The result is an invisible hob with intuitive controls, high performance, and a “wow factor” that reshapes the kitchen and sets it apart in the industry.
Revolutionising kitchen design
With changing lifestyles and shrinking living spaces, multifunctionality in kitchen design has become a priority. Novy wanted to lead this trend by developing a cooking hob that is both invisible and highly functional. The challenge was to create a product that merges effortlessly with modern kitchen surfaces, eliminating visual clutter, augmenting the overall value perception and ensuring user safety while offering advanced cooking features.
To lead this trend with Novy, we developed an induction hob that not only disappears into the countertop but also enhances safety, flexibility, and usability. The challenge was clear: to craft a product that balances advanced cooking features with a sleek, minimalist design that meets the diverse needs of today’s households.
Crafting a user-centric invisible hob
Key to this innovation was the development of an intuitive remote controller, allowing users to manage the hob with precision and ease. Designed with user feedback in mind, the controller features flexible settings and a streamlined interface that eliminates guesswork and adds a sense of control and design to the cooking process.
This focus on user-friendly interaction transformed the hob into a versatile, clutter-free kitchen solution. Equipped with a powerful induction system and flexible cooking zones, the hob complements the minimalist design of any space.
