Role overview
As Business Development Director, you are a key member of Made’s leadership team and a driving force behind our growth globally.
You operate as a consultative innovation seller: someone who thrives in early, ambiguous conversations, helps clients frame their real challenges, and translates ambition into clear innovation trajectories. You build trust at C-level, shape long-term partnerships, and co-create opportunities together with our strategists, designers, and technologists.
This is not a transactional sales role. It’s about opening new markets, growing strategic accounts, and helping define how Made brings its innovation expertise to the world.

Drive growth & partnerships
- Open new markets and develop strategic partnership globally
- Activate existing relationships and grow long-term client partnerships
- Identify and initiate innovation opportunities within complex organizationsShape opportunities, not just deals

- Lead strategic discovery conversations with senior stakeholders
- Translate complex business challenges into compelling innovation narratives
- Co-create proposals with our innovation experts that clients genuinely want to say “yes”toOwn the journey from idea to impact
Own the journey from idea to impact
- Lead the full commercial cycle: from first conversation to closing
- Present clear, compelling points of view that create momentum and trust
- Negotiate and close engagements with respect for timing, scope, and budget
Lead from the front
- Contribute to Made’s growth strategy, market positioning, and offering evolution. Act as a connector between clients, teams, and leadership
- Represent Made at industry events and within strategic networks
Qualifications
Senior Experience & Leadership
- 10+ years of experience in consultative selling within an agency, consultancy, orinnovation-driven environment
- Proven ability to engage and build trust with C-level and C-1 stakeholders
- Comfortable operating at leadership level, with autonomy and accountability
Strategic and Commercial Mindset
- Strong ability to uncover real client needs beyond the initial brief. Experience selling complex, high-value services rather than fixed productsSolid understanding of sales pipelines, deal shaping, and long-term value creation
Industry & Innovation Affinity
- Genuine passion for innovation, emerging technologies, and design-led problem solving
- Strong belief in sustainability as a strategic driver for growth and impact
- Curiosity about how organizations can evolve to better serve people, planet, andbusiness
Nice-to-haves
- Excellent knowledge of Dutch and English; knowledge of French is a significant asset.
- Existing network within Belgium and Europe (US or MEA is a bonus)
