Challenge
Reinventing a hospital classic without losing its soul.
Televic Healthcare wanted to redesign their well-known Push Pear, an essential nurse calling tool in patient care.
The challenge wasn’t just about looks, however. The new design had to align with Televic’s allround product DNA while balancing four demands: innovation, cost reduction, longevity (up to 15 years), and the trusted ergonomics patients already valued.
In short: modernize the device without losing the qualities that made it indispensable.
Enter Made.

Impact
A smarter and stronger Push Pear.
Televic's new Push Pear retains the clarity and ergonomics of the original but comes with sharper usability, refined button placement, and a design that feels instantly natural in the patient’s hand.
Internally, complexity was reduced, allowing ultrasonic welding and lowering manufacturing costs. Externally, the front was organized into three intuitive zones: primary call, secondary functions, and branding, while the rear was sculpted through prototypes to fit comfortably in every patient’s grip.
The outcome is a product that looks, feels, and performs like the next evolution of a classic.

Approach
Patient-centered, prototype-driven.
At Made, we combined CAD modeling, 3D printing, and rapid iteration to test countless design options with patients, nurses, and stakeholders.
By validating each step with real-world feedback, we kept what worked from the previous model and improved what didn’t.
Prototyping allowed us to fine-tune ergonomics, button design, and layout quickly, ensuring the final product met both functional and emotional needs.
The result was not just a redesign, but a patient-first reinvention built to last.
