Energized with the desire to enjoy life outdoors to the fullest, Coozus challenged Made to extend one’s home beyond its walls. To make outdoor spaces usable, comfortable, and inviting all year round. To create outdoor furniture that thrives on rainy days, frosty nights, and stands the test of time without ever compromising on comfort or aesthetics.
Sure, it was ambitious. But so are we. So we got a seat at Coozus’ table.
Impact
Premium outdoor furniture without the hassle.
In a close collaboration with Coozus’ founders, a brother and sister, we created more than just another piece of outdoor furniture. We created a premium solution for the unpopular inconveniences of outdoor living: wet cushions, always dragging around furniture, ugly grey covers, ...
The first expression of this new and exciting collaboration is the Coozus Lounge Chair. An exclusive designer chair that excels not only in looks, but also in comfort, functionality, and durability.
Premium comfort sits at the core of Coozus’ brand proposition, carefully balanced with refined proportions and a timeless aesthetic. Therefore, every material is deliberately selected and engineered to withstand harsh weather conditions, rain, and temperature shifts, while remaining easy to clean and maintain.
The built-in mechanisms, like the hinge and soft-close, are created to last a lifetime and require absolutely no maintenance whatsoever. Lifting the back shell even feels as light as opening a bottle of wine. And thanks to the built-in soft-close, every movement ends with a touch of finesse.
In addition, a key innovation that strengthens the brand promise lies in the cushions, premium fabrics combining a luxurious look with a soft, comfortable feel. These cushions are consciously designed with unmatched weather resistance so they can stay outside all year round. Always ready to use, eliminating the need for storage, and delivering effortless comfort.
Approach
From idea to commercial production.
During an intense 2 year collaboration, Made and Coozus rethought entirely how people experience an outdoor space. Not as something seasonal that comes and goes, but as a true extension of a home to be enjoyed every day of the year.
Before putting pen to paper, we uncovered in an early stage the real and market-validated need for outdoor furniture that doesn’t disappear when summer ends, unlike many of the industry’s outdoor solutions. Establishing the Coozus brand proposition, shaping a clear market position, and crafting a compelling identity from the ground up therefore served as a much needed starting point that could last for ages.
From there, we designed and validated a first product: the Coozus Lounge Chair. This exclusive piece of outdoor furniture carefully balances aesthetics and comfort, ensuring the experience feels as good as it looks.
Engineering translated this vision into a durable, yet refined, production-ready solution built to withstand all conditions. At the end of the day, Coozus first breakthrough lounge chair was thoughtfully developed for efficient, local manufacturing within the BeNeLux.
