Van Den Weghe
Repurposing high-quality waste.
When producing a bespoke marble kitchen counter top, the sink area is milled out. Given the intrinsic quality of that piece of valuable material, we were challenged with the question: how could Van Den Weghe repurpose this waste stream?
From waste stream to revenue stream
Made organised a co-creation workshop to generate tons of ideas on how the material could be reused. Up to +50 ideas were shortlisted. Through a process of validation, business modeling and viability filtering, we narrowed it down to the most promising opportunity.
This exercise resulted in transforming the high-quality waste into a product with specific external features, creating a differentiating product from the existing portfolio.
Lapris and a series of other products were born.
Going from 75 ideas to 1 product
Van Den Weghe and Made put together a process to go from +50 ideas on how to use the waste for a better purpose.
Next to creating the updated brand ID & website, we supported Van Den Weghe with the packaging concept as well as marketing and brochure imagery.
